Important Update for Parents re Kingsdale's Extra-Curricular Programme during National Lockdown (November/December 2020)
In light of recent updated Government guidance regarding extra-curricular provision in schools and COVID-19 restrictions, it is with regret that we are required to suspend our sports and after school extra-curricular on-site programme until Wednesday 2nd December 2020 when the current period of national lockdown is due to end. Please be assured that this decision was not taken lightly and it is our full intention to resume our published programme as soon as we are authorised to do so.
Please note that as part of this decision, our after-school art clubs and music ensembles will not run at this time, although on-site music instrumental lessons that take place during the school day will continue to take place as normal. The Christmas music concerts scheduled to commence in late November 2020 will still take place although this will be via our online platforms. Further details will be shared with parents separately.
Please also be advised that PE lessons will continue to take place as usual during curriculum time and as with the arrangements during the previous half-term, students are required to wear full school PE kit on days when they are timetabled to have PE. In order to minimise risk, and conform to published guidance, the majority of lessons will take place outside during the course of this half-term at a time when the weather is due to get colder. In the event that your child wishes to wear additional layers to their school PE t-shirt and sweatshirt they should either wear their school jumper, or base layers under their PE t-shirt, and not additional non-school uniform items such as tracksuit tops or hoodies.
We would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the school, to thank you for your continued support during this challenging time and very much look forward to being able to re-launch our extensive extra-curricular programme later this half term.
Please contact Mr O Fatodu, Senior Head of House, via firstname.lastname@example.org with any queries, including those relating to our unique Trips of a Lifetime programme.
