Post Sixth Form Applications

University Applications (UCAS)

At Kingsdale Foundation School Sixth Form, we are proud of the excellent links that we have with a range of top universities both in the United Kingdom and abroad which include Queen Mary, Imperial College, Oxford University and Harvard & Yale.

Throughout their time with us, there is a real focus for students on the transition to higher education, with our students participating in a whole programme of activities to prepare them fully for their UCAS applications.

This extensive programme includes visits to universities all over the country throughout the year, as well as to the United States, as part of our successful Autumn excursion to Boston, including both Harvard and Yale.  We also operate a rolling programme of external speakers who visit the school to discuss a range of subjects linked to higher education, including student finance, personal statements and academic programmes.  Most recently, this has included speakers from Imperial College and Queen Mary University.  Students are also able to benefit to access to residential courses and extra tuition at our partner universities, including Imperial College.

In academic year 2024-25 our students achieved highly and went on to study in top institutions across the UK. The majority of our graduates going on to higher education have accepted places at prestigious Russell Group Universities including 7 going to Oxford & Cambridge to study subjects as challenging as Mathematics, Computer Science and English.  Students have secured places at many other top universities such as University College London, Durham, Warwick, Manchester, Bristol and Nottingham to do well-regarded, competitive and demanding courses such as Medicine.

Our gifted and talented creative and performing artists will be attending highly esteemed conservatoires and institutions encompassing The Princes Drawing School, Central Saint Martin and Institute of Contemporary Music Performance.  There is much for our community of learners to celebrate.

Art Foundation Applications

In the Summer of 2025, 99% of our Year 13 Art, Textiles and Photography students that wanted to study for a Foundation Year in Art and Design, went on to study at university. Three students went to The Prince's Foundation (formerly the Royal Drawing School). Two of these students were awarded full scholarships and one of them was awarded a 25% scholarship. Nine of our students were offered places at Kingston University and nine students were offered places at CCW. One student was accepted directly to study for her degree at Dundee University, and was awarded a full scholarship.

All these courses are incredibly oversubscribed and we are very proud of our students and what they have achieved. All our students worked extremely hard over the two year course and this was an outstanding achievement.

The work produced on all of our Art based courses in the Sixth Form continues to be of an outstanding standard and students are fully supported as they progress on to develop their potential careers in this field.

Apprenticeships and the World of Work

Although many of our students progress on to university after their time in our Sixth Form, an increasing number of students consider applying for higher level apprenticeships to learn a specific skill set while entering the world of work.  At Kingsdale we provide effective and personalised careers guidance and support, to assist our students in making choices which suit their aspirations, interests and abilities.

Recently we have assisted students to undertake higher level apprenticeships in sound engineering, accident and emergency medicine, vetrinary science and civil engineering.
