At Kingsdale Foundation School, the Food Science curriculum allows students to develop the knowledge and skills that will help them acquire life skills in cooking and help them understand the importance of establishing a healthy lifestyle.’

Contained within the range of extremely popular and successful subjects comprising the Art, Design and Technology Faculty at Kingsdale, the Food Science curriculum affords students the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills that will help them acquire life skills in cooking and help them to understand the importance of establishing a healthy lifestyle. The Food Science Department aims to provide well-planned, innovative, and lively lessons. In a large proportion of the lessons, students cook or are engaged in a practical activity. Students also gain valuable experiences catering school events such as the annual Kingsdale Art Exhibition and extra-curricular clubs provide opportunities for students to enjoy the art of cooking with like-minded peers. The Food Science ’University Survival Course’ which takes place every Wednesday, is extremely popular with our Sixth Form students. On the course, they learn how to prepare healthy food on a budget, in readiness for when they move away to university
