The Business Studies department is at Kingsdale aims to support students to relate their experiences within the real world to theoretical concepts. Our courses help students to investigate and analyse real business opportunities and issues to construct well-argued, well-evidenced, balanced and structured arguments. Students also develop and apply quantitative skills relevant to business, including using and interpreting data.
Areas of study include law, accountancy, marketing, human resources management, research and development, project management.
Every year as part of our enrichment program students who study GCSE Business Studies will participate in two days of activities, where students work exclusively with external agencies on enterprise projects. As part of the Year 10 and Year 11 controlled assessment students visit existing businesses to gain insight into real-world practices. In the past we have visited places like Cadbury World and Alton Towers. Here students get to see the theoretical elements of what they have learned in practice and have lots of fun while doing so!
