Computer Science

The school is embracing the government’s drive to introduce computing into schools at all levels. The KS3 Computing curriculum aims to teach students the essential elements of Computing that we all need to know how to use in our everyday lives as well as key underlying concepts of computing such as algorithms. Much of the course will focus on how computable ideas can apply in other areas, such as art, engineering, science, and mathematics. In KS4 and 5 students can choose to study Computer Science at GCSE and A-Level respectively. The school is equipped with state-of-the-art computing resources.

We have several computing suites around the school, which we are continually updating with the latest technology.

Throughout the school year students are offered various opportunities to take part in school trips. In previous years the department has run a trip for Year 8 "Teentech Trip", and for Year 11 "Think Computer Science" run by Microsoft at their Cambridge offices.
