Religious Studies

The aim of the Religious Studies curriculum at Kingsdale is to encourage learners to be inspired, moved, and changed by following a broad, satisfying, and worthwhile course of study that challenges and equips students to lead constructive lives in the modern world. Religion is central to many peoples’ lives in the world both positively and negatively. This course will aid understanding of the religious factors in many of those issues central to life whether pupils have any faith or none.

Right to Withdraw from Religious Education

Parents/carers have a right, on grounds of conscience, to withdraw their child from statutory RE. They understand that by withdrawing from RE that the school has a duty to supervise them, though not to provide additional teaching or to incur extra cost.

Any queries about the courses can be addressed to Mr J Lewis (HOD) in the Religious Studies Department.
