Amazing A Level Examination Results at Kingsdale Foundation School in 2024! 

We are delighted to announce that our students have excelled by producing our best ever A Level results with some exceptional individual performances including 5 students who achieved 4A* grades and 12 students who achieved at least 3A* grades each!

In excess of 40% of all grades achieved at A level this year at Kingsdale were at A*/A and 70% at A*-B.

Seventy percent of our graduates going on to higher education have accepted places at prestigious Russell Group Universities including 10 going on to Oxford & Cambridge or to study medicine.

Students have secured places at many other top universities including University College London,  Edinburgh, Warwick, Manchester, Bristol and Nottingham to do well-regarded, competitive and demanding courses such as Theoretical Physics, Classics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Philosophy, Languages, English Literature & Biochemistry.  Our gifted and talented creative and performing artists will not just be attending highly esteemed conservatoires and institutions encompassing Kingston University, CCW, Guildhall, Royal College of Music & Royal Welsh but also, for example,  the following universities: Cambridge, Edinburgh and Manchester to do Degrees in Architecture, Fine Art & Design respectively.  There is much for our community of learners to celebrate.

We are incredibly proud of how students, staff and parents have collaborated and supported each other to produce another set of amazing A Level results.  We would like to pay tribute to all of our students who may not have reached the dizzy heights of our top national achievers but whose endeavours, resilience and hard work have enabled them to pursue their own exciting pathway of choice.

Rosa Aldridge and Nelly Fisk celebrate achieving 5 A* and 1 A grades between them and will now go on to study Biology at Manchester University and Medicine at Queen's Univeristy Belfast respectively.

Kai Slater secured A* grades in Mathematics and Further Mathematics and an A in Computer Science and will be undertaking an apprenticeship in the Flim Industry. Kai writes:

"Out of the seven years I have spent at Kingsdale, the last two years were the most fun. I opened my results to see some shocking grades. Two A-stars and an A. I was very proud of myself and now I’m just glad that it is over with. I’m going to use these grades to hopefully find an apprenticeship in the film industry and if I am able to get a job in movie editing in the future, I will be looking forward to that too."

Ben Joplin and Matthew Barr each achieved a highly impressive 4 A* grades in Chemistry, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics.  Ben has secured a place at Oxford University to study Materials Science and Matthew will be going to the University of Leeeds to study Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering.  Matthew writes:

"My experience in attending Kingsdale for the last 7 years has been incredible, both academically and socially. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic teachers in my favourite subjects have made my time at school the most enjoyable and entertaining I could've asked for. I have also been lucky enough to play rugby for the school since Year 7 and Ioved every single moment of it. I would seriously recommend other pupils to participate in sports at the school as both teachers and students love it equally as much. This school has been the perfect fit for me, and to everyone else who received their results today - well done you've all done amazingly!"

Eve Jarvis and Rosa Lumsden celebrate collectively achieving a highly impressive set of 5A* and 2 A grades.  Both students are delighted to have secured places at the University of Cambridge to read Classics and English respectivetly.  Rosa writes:

"A Levels at Kingsdale have been a real pleasure. I have learnt so much and met so many wonderful people. I could not be more grateful for the teachers at Kingsdale who have done everything in their power to make today a joyful day. While the wait has been stressful and the revision gruelling at times, being able to study English at Cambridge feels like quite the happy ending. Above all, I am so proud of my peers who in the face of all sorts of adversity have consistently been beacons of hope in these past two years."

Hepzibah Stockbridge, Jacqueline Nwabueze and Iris Utley with their combined and highly impressive 5 A*, 2 A and 1 B grades.  Hepzibah will be studying Biology at the University of Oxford, Jacqueline will be going to the University of York to study Geography and Iris to the University of Glasgow to study Chemistry.  Jacqueline writes:

"The past two years have naturally been difficult, but simultaneously beautiful and lifechanging. Being at Kingsdale has provided me with experiences that would previously have been unimaginable. Without the beautiful friendships made and the continuous support and care from teachers, I would not be where I am today. I am proud to have been a Kingsdale student and will carry that with me in my next chapter at York!"

The amazing achievement of attaining 10A*s & 4A Grades between them at A level have enabled Eve, Ben, Rosa & Freya to study Classics, Philosophy, English at Cambridge University and Economics at Oxford respectively!

Ivy Hartley-Drewe celebrates securing a hugely impressive set of 3 A* grades in Fine Art, English Literature and Politics.  Ivy will be studying Politics and International Relations at the University of Bath. Ivy writes:

"Studying my A levels at Kingsdale was the best decision - I couldn’t be more grateful for the teachers and staff who have been so dedicated to helping us all succeed. I can’t wait to go on to new things and carry on studying the subject I love at university!"

Gabriel Shoultz celebrates achieving top grades in Chemistry, Maths and Physics and will now study Materials Science and Engineering at the Universty of Sheffield.

Maia Hallett secured the top grades of A* in Art, A* in English and A in Film Studies.  Maia will be studying Fine Art at the University of Edinburgh next year.

Eve Jarvis, Ben Shorter, Rosa Lumsden, Freya Humphrey and Nelly Fisk celebrate their fantastic A Level results.  Ben who attained 2 A* and 2 A grades at A Level and will be reading Philosophy at the University of Cambridge writes:

"What a whirlwind! After two topsy-turvy years, I'm still not totally convinced that we're actually through this. A Levels are a mad thing. After picking up and dropping various subjects in Year 12 and throwing an operation and a marathon into my Sixth Form mix, all I've left to say is a stegosaurus "thank you" to Kingsdale for facilitating my silliness, alongside the great support I've seen the school give to so many of my friends. To all Sixth Form entrants: I eagerly recommend an eclectic mix of subjects – the compliments keep you sane! – and to all students leaving school today: have a supremely well-deserved rest, and well done – you've run a marathon."
